For healthy growth, the main nutrients that fruit plants require are large amounts of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), magnesium (Mg), calcium (Ca) and sulphur (S). Plants also absorb small amounts of micronutrients and trace elements (manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), boron (B) and molybdenum (Mo). Although there is usually an adequate level of micronutrients and sulphur in the soil, the other nutrients must be supplemented, if required, to avoid nutritional problems and deficiency symptoms and thus a lower yield and poorer quality. The fertiliser specialists at Hauert would be glad to support you in this task, which is not always easy, with advice and resources – if necessary on the basis of soil samples which we would be pleased to take for you. Products such as the Hauert special fertiliser for berries and fruit as well as a wide range of micronutrients and trace elements are available for targeted and needs-based fertilisation through the soil, through irrigation systems and for the leaf fertilisation of your orchard.
